Job Searching in the Coronavirus Era

The Coronavirus has created unchartered waters in job searching and without any real notice. The only other time like this in my 30 years was the post 9/11 environment, but this is not a time to put your job search on hold. While companies may not be calling people in for interviews, they will have jobs to fill when this is over, and hopefully, that will be sooner than later.

By speaking to numerous Human Resource professionals, I have confirmed that they are still gathering resumes, so when the green light comes on to hire, they can ramp up quickly and have a ready pool of candidates. You will want your resume to be in their call-in group. This is also an excellent time to build and expand your network, still the number one way to find a position.

There are still some industries hiring, and historically, even in the worst of economic times, some jobs must be filled. Yes, these are scary and uncertain times, and you are likely feeling some anxiety, but don’t let that derail your efforts. Now is not the time to slow down your search. It is a time to practice your interviewing skills and fine-tune your elevator pitch. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that you maintain momentum.

If you are seeking help with your career documents, tools, and endeavors, I  welcome the opportunity to assist you. Realizing that money is particularly dear now, I will be providing a 20% discount on all my services to new and returning clients as of this emailing.

If you would like to schedule an initial consultation, please go to my appointment calendar.
